Dr. Karen Kurowski
Owner and Medical Director
Dr. Karen Kurowski is the owner and Medical Director of the practice and has been providing compassionate veterinary care to pets in San Diego for many years. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Illinois before following her passion for animals by completing a Bachelor of Science in Biology at George Mason University and earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine.
Before becoming a veterinarian, Dr. Kurowski worked as a veterinary technician, giving her valuable hands-on experience caring for pets. After veterinary school, she practiced in general medicine and emergency medicine before opening her own practice. Many of the clients who trusted her with their pets years ago continue to bring their furry family members to her today.

She enjoys building lasting relationships with clients and providing personalized care for every pet she sees.
When she's not at the hospital, Dr. Kurowski enjoys running, cycling, scuba diving, baking, and cooking. She has shared her home with many dogs and cats over the years and is currently kept company by her beloved senior dog, Mojo.
